Human Smuggling Racket - Twists and Turns

The human smuggling racket case that involved TRS MLA Kasipeta Lingaiah, is moving with more twists and turns. The Central CrimeStation cops have identified another woman Sumitra Ben who was shown as Tarainvolved in the same case before Sangeeta Ben Patel.According to CCS inspector Sarath Kumar, the appearence of Sumitra Ben being similar to that of Sangeeta Ben Patel, is the reason behind all thesetwists and turns. Sumitra Ben Patel is a house wife in Gujarat and wanted to leave abroadfor goodprospects. Thinking that she would never get a visa if applied in a propermanner, she consulted Bharatbhai Patel another accused in the case who is apassport brokeralong with other brokers. Bharatbhai arranged for a passport and wheneverythingwas made ready for her to fly to the US, Bharatbhai and his team realisedthatSumitra had already left for US through another broker. Then started all this high end drama where Sangeeta Ben Patel wasdisguised asSumitra Ben. As per a plan, the racketeers secured passport for Ms.Sumitra Benusing her photograph in the name of Mr. Lingaiah’s wife Tara. But Ms. SumitraBen struck deal with another agent and flew to America. "The agents beganlookingout for another client with similar facial features. That was whenSangeeta BenPatel met them," an investigator said. All these facts came into limelight only after the arrest of RajendraKumar Pitti andBharatbhai Patel a few days ago. Bharatbhai got bail when Raju wasarrested. Thecops interrogated both of them together and only then the facts came intolight.Raju Pitti, a key accused in the case, was the person who had brokered thedealbetween Sangeeta and the MLA. Raju was taken to Gujarat to locate Sangeetaandarrest her. He was introduced to Sangeeta by Bharatbhai Patel ofAhmedabad whoused to send 'cases' to Hyderabad.Rasheed, a former corporator who assisted Raju in getting fake passports, facilitating visas and sending out persons to the US was nabbed last yearby thecops. Kasipeta Lingiah was also arrested last year and is out on bail.Cops believe that persons like Sangeeta paid anything between Rs 10 - 15Lakh tosecure a visa to the US enlisting the services of legislators like Lingaiah.Sangeeta a working woman engaged in doing embroidery work was planning to goto the US to provide services of a maid in the homes of affluent Gujaratisin thatcountry. She had been absconding since the sensational human smuggling racket came tolight a year ago. She was brought to city on Friday after being arrested inAhmedabad on Thursday. Ms. Patel, wife of a businessman Jagdish BhaiPatel, wasaccused of attending visa interview at American Consulate, Chennai, alongwith Mr.Lingaiah falsely claiming as the latter’s wife.Sangeeta's visa was rejected just because she could not answer any of thequestionsposed to her in the American Consulate.A special team of Hyderabad Detective Department cops picked up Ms. Patel, themain missing link in the case, from her house in Bapunagar of Ahmedabad. She isthe sixth person to be arrested in the case after Mr. Lingaiah, passportbrokerMohd. Rasheed Ali, ex-corporator, Mohd. Muzaffar Ali Khan, commission agent,Bharat Bhai Patel and the alleged kingpin, Rajender Kumar Pitti.Rajendra Kumar Pitti alias Raju Pitti was produced in the Nampally CriminalCourt on Saturday at around 3:30 pm.
